"Sometimes it falls upon a generation to be great.

You can be that great generation"
                                            - Nelson Mandela

The BOLD performance in Johannesburg will benefit Busfare Babies Birth Centre whose mission is to bring safe birth to rural women. Busfare Babies Birth Centre is a non-profit organization and is situated in Hamburg village in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The birth house is situated within a rural community and offers affordable, skilled and dignified care to the women of the area, primarily Xhosa women.

They offer women a gentle, safe, nurturing place to birth their babies. They bring knowledge of meeting needs in an impoverished community, where 30% of pregnant women are living with HIV. They believe that good care can be affordable and that women should not have to go far to find this care. They advocate for a health care system in which it will be standard procedure for mothers and babies to thrive and not merely survive through birth and early life. Busfare Babies facilitates the screening process for HIV and provide anti-retroviral therapy to women in labour to prevent mother to child transmission. The midwifery model of care is practised and taught at Busfare Babies birth centre where the focus is on keeping birth normal and looking after the needs of mother and baby.
